Lee BUTCHER, age 55, Follett, passed away early Sunday morning at Anthony, Kans., after an illness of five weeks, funeral services being held Monday afternoon and burial made at Fairmont cemetery, near Follett. The deceased was well known in this county, having formerly been in the grain business at Huntoon. At the time of his death he was manager of the Farmers Grain & Supply company, Follett.
Lee Edward BUTCHER was born April 7, 1879, in Salina, Kans., and died on the morning of November 18, at 2:45 o'clock at the hospital in Anthony, Kans., after an illness of five weeks, at the age of 55 years, 7 months and 11 days. On August 30, 1904, he was united in marriage to Mary Newell CAMPBELL. To this union, one child was born, Lema Jane, who is now a teacher in the Pampa schools. His father, mother, two brothers and one sister preceded him in death. He is survived by his wife and daughter, a stepfather, C. W. DODD and a half-brother, C. C. DODD, both of Pampa.
Mr. and Mrs. BUTCHER moved to Follett in August 1933 at which time Mr. BUTCHER became manager of the Farmers Grain & Supply company. Five weeks ago, Mr. BUTCHER became seriously ill and was taken to Anthony and later to Exelsior Springs, Mo., for treatment. He returned to Anthony shortly before he was taken in death.
Funeral services were conducted at the Methodist church in Follett at 2:30 o'clock Monday afternoon with Rev. Ralph H. Campbell, Sharon, Okla., in charge. The remains were laid to rest in Fairmont cemetery in Follett.
