Dr. Neiland Chaffin Steger, 93 of Borger died Saturday April 25th in Borger. Celebration of Life services will be 2: 00 pm Tuesday April 28th at Minton Memorial Chapel with Rev. Andy Dietz, Pastor of Groom First Baptist Church officiating. Burial will be in Westlawn Memorial Park.
Dr. Neiland was born April 11,1922 in San Angelo, Tx to Ernst and Lena Milner Steger. He served in the US Navy during WWII as a Chief Petty Officer. He married Myrtle Ruth Coppin August 30, 1946 in San Angelo. He was a life member of Texas Optometrist and American Optometrist Associations. He loved to do woodworking and fishing.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife and a brother.
Dr. Neiland is survived by his sons Doug and wife Kim of Graham, TX; Steve and wife Cathy of Kenedy, TX; Dr. Brad and wife Tara of Borger; Barry and wife Alice of Borger. Thirteen grandchildren. Eight great grandchildren and one on the way.
