ROBY -- Ethel Maurcene Parker, 63, of Roby, passed away early Tuesday morning in her home. Services will be held Thursday, February 21, 2002 at 2 p.m. in the Roby First Baptist Church with the Reverends Allan Cartrite and Jerry Vincent officiating. Burial will follow in the Roby Cemetery under the direction of Weathersbee Funeral Home of Rotan.
Maurcene was born January 25, 1939, to George and Merry Leona (Holland) Parker in Roby, Texas. She was a clerk for the Texas Department of Human Resources for 43 years and where she received the 1992 Employee of the Year. Ms. Parker was a member of the Roby Lions Club and First Baptist Church.
She is survived by two sisters, Mildred Parker of Roby and Wanda and James McClendon of Abilene; two brothers, George Parker of Roby and Charles and Mary Kay Parker of Abilene; nieces and nephews, Randy and Jana Parker of Abilene and Tina and Ed Walker of Snyder; great-niece and nephew, Blake and Reanne Parker of Abilene and Kaylee Walker of Snyder.
Pallbearers will be Roy Stephenson, James Streety, Jerry Jack Parker, Bobby Schuedter, Don Pullig, Bill Day, Jim Holland, Stanley Simmons, Jim Rameriz and William Cleveland.
Honorary Pallbearers are the employees of DHS and the Roby Lions Club members.
