Tom Sharp
Rotan - Tom Sharp, 67, a farmer, died at 3:30 a.m. Saturday in Simmons Memorial Hospital in Sweetwater following a 10-day illness. Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at the First Baptist Church in Roby.
The Rev. Thurman Upshaw of Stamford and the Rev. Charles Whitlock, pastor, will officate. Burial will be in the Roby Cemetery under the direction of Weathersbee Funeral Home of Rotan.
Born Jan. 3, 1905, in Erath County, Mr. Sharp was the son of the late Mr. & Mrs. Walter Sharp. His family moved to Fisher County from Erath County in 1928. He married Dulcie Upshaw May 3, 1930 in Frederick, OK. He was a member of the Baptist Church. He had farmed in the Roby area since 1928.
Survivors are his wife of Roby; one son Arlon of Arlington; one daughter Mrs. Doyle Rasco of Sweetwater; five sisters; Mrs. Gladys Brock of Fort Worth, Mrs. Percy Goodwin of Corpus Christi, Mrs. Jim fair of Lamount, CA, Mrs. Truman Upshaw of Roby, and Mrs. Pete O'Briant of Rotan, four brothers John and Eurgene of Rotan, Dick of Aspermont and Rufus of Snyder; four grandchildren; one great grandchild.
Pallearers will be Jack Mash, Artie Martin, George Parker, Herbert Bennett, Mutt Knox, Murrary Simmons, Aubrey Chandler, Kermit Terry.
