Parents: Frank Ray and Julie Sodek MatejkaHITCHCOCK - Clarence R. Matejka, 66, of Hitchcock went to be with the Lord, March 21,
1999.

Mr. Matejka was born March 13, 1933, in Curtain, Texas to Frank Ray and Julie Sodek Matejka.

He served in the United States Army and was a resident of Hitchcock for most of his life A member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, serving in many capacities, Men's Club, usher and Parish Board. He also was a member of the Knight of Columbus and the V.F.W. Post 5400 of Santa Fe, Texas. He worked with Smith Douglas for 10 years and retired with Amoco Gas after 25 years of service, where he served as a foreman.

Mr. Matejka is survived by his loving wife of 39 years, Susie Matejka of Hitchcock, Texas; one daughter and son-in-law, Diana and Shane Smith of Santa Fe, Texas; one son and daughter-in-law, Frank and Shannon Matejka of Hitchcock, Texas; two sisters, Gladys Kovar of Temple, Texas and Bernice Woodbury of Pasco, Washington; his beloved grandchildren, Jessica and Steven Smith, and Tanner Matejka, numerous other relatives and friends.

A vigil service will be 7:00 p.m. Tuesday evening in the chapel of the James Crowder Funeral Home in La Marque, Texas with Sister Mary Anne HoUmann, officiating.

Funeral Mass will be 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, March 24, 1999, at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Hitchcock, Texas, with the Reverend Peter Ferguson, officiating.

Entombment will follow at Grace Memorial Park Mausoleum in Hitchcock, Texas.

Pallbearers will be Robert Cambiano, Louis Cambiano, Richard Cambiano, Nick Cambiano,
Tommy Matejka, Eugene Matejka and Shane Smith. Honorary Pallbearers will be Raymond
Cruse and Domingo Duque.

Memorial may be sent to the Hospice Care Team, 1708 North Amburn Road, Texas City, Texas
77591 or the charity of your choice.
