*Obituary
John Hay Tankersley, 80, an [TV] engineer, passed away Wednesday, March 17, 2004, at a local hospital.
Funeral: 10 a.m. Saturday at Shannon Rose Hill Funeral Chapel. Burial: 4 p.m. Saturday in Sylvester Cemetery in Sylvester. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Shannon Rose Hill Funeral Home.
Memorials: May be sent to a charity of choice.
John loved working on the farm in West Texas with his wife, Dorothy. He was a TV engineer for WBAP Channel 5 News for 25 years, staying very involved with monthly meetings and reunions after leaving. John was a member of Sagamore Hill Baptist Church for 45 years. John served our country in the Army during World War II. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Survivors: Loving wife of 54 years, Dorothy Tankersley; son, Tankersley; brothers, and his wife, and his wife, [Deleted]; nieces, and ; nephews, and their children; numerous other cousins; and special friends, and husband, and Dr. and Mrs. of Dallas.
