SANTA FE — Delia Moreno Culbreth, 77, of Santa Fe, passed away Friday, March 5, 2010, at Mainland Medical Center in Texas City, surrounded by her loved ones. Born September 26, 1932, in Tyler, Texas, Delia had been a resident of Santa Fe since 1975. She graduated from Ball High in Galveston, Texas and worked as a secretary for 24 years until she left the work force to become a homemaker, dedicating her life to caring for her family. She was an avid bowler in leagues in Alvin, Galveston and Texas City. She enjoyed Bingo, Yahtzee and playing cards with her sisters, but her true joy came from spending time with her family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 35 years, Albert Joseph "Bosco" Culbreth Sr.; sister Mary Reeves; and parents, Jose and Concepcion Moreno.

Delia is survived by her daughters Nora Gagne and husband Bobby Sr., Kim McCurdy and husband Robert, Priscilla Ingram, and Laura "Red" Culbreth and partner Donna Record; sons Eric Culbreth and wife, Laurie, Dennis Culbreth, Sr., Christopher Culbreth, Sr. and wife, Tracy; sisters Angelina Ouellet, Rita Oakes and husband, Bill, and Beatrice Martinez and husband, Albert; brothers Joe Moreno and wife, Josephine; Ramiro Moreno and wife, Lori; and Robert Moreno and wife, Helen; 25 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren and numerous other relatives and friends.

Delia's family will receive visitors from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, March 9th, at Malloy & Son Funeral Home in Galveston, Texas.

Funeral Service will be at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, March 10th, at Malloy & Son Funeral Home with Dr. Rick Smith officiating. Entombment will follow at Grace Memorial Park Cemetery in Hitchcock, Texas.

Pallbearers will be Nunee Oakes, Joseph Reeves, Mickey Ouellet, Eric Culbreth, Robert Gagne, Jr., and Brandon Culbreth.

Honorary pallbearers will be Kenny Soriano, Timothy Gagne, Kristen Mahoney, Cameron F. Ingram, and Doug Walter.

The family wishes to extend special thanks to the staff of Bay Oaks Nursing Home for their compassionate care.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Alzheimer's Association.

SANTA FE — Albert Joseph “Bosco” Culbreth Sr., 77, of Santa Fe, passed away peacefully at Mainland Medical Center in Texas City on Friday November 6, 2009, surrounded by his loved ones. Born December 26, 1931, in Galveston, Texas, Albert had been a resident of Santa Fe since 1975. He retired from ISP Corporation, Texas City, in 1996, as a Storeroom Supervisor. He had been a Sergeant for the Galveston Police Department, a machinist and was Honorably Discharged three times from the U.S. Army.

He was preceded in death by his parents Alfred B. Culbreth, Sr. and wife Lillian, and William S. Nicholson, Sr.; son A.J. Culbreth, Jr.; and brother William “Sandy” Nicholson, Jr.

Albert is survived by his wife of thirty-five years Delia Moreno Culbreth; sons Dennis Culbreth, Sr. of Santa Fe, Texas, and Christopher Culbreth, Sr., and wife Tracy of Kemah, Texas; daughters Nanette Weimer and husband Fred of Pearland, Texas, Jenna Ormsbee and husband Mike of Sumner, Texas, Laura “Red” Culbreth and partner Donna Record of Santa Fe, Texas, Priscilla Ingram of Santa Fe, Texas, Nora Gagne and husband Bobby, Sr. of Santa Fe, Texas, and Kim McCurdy and husband Robert of Santa Fe, Texas; sisters Joan Tucker of Santa Fe, Texas, Janie Palmer of Las Vegas, Nevada, Nettie Linquist of Webster, Texas, Penny Nicoladis of Santa Fe, Texas, and Margaret McCune of Madisonville, Texas; brothers A.B. “Bubba “ Culbreth, Jr. and wife Bettye of Alvin, Texas, M.M. “Mike” Culbreth and wife Janet of Arlington, Texas, William H. Nicholson of Santa Fe, Texas, and Richard Kreger of Friendswood, Texas; thirty grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; and numerous other relative and friends.

Visitation will be from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. Monday November 9, 2009, at Malloy & Son Funeral Home.

Funeral Service will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday November 10, 2009, at Malloy & Son Funeral Home, with Pastor Deb Grant officiating. Burial will follow at Grace Memorial Park Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Brandon Culbreth, A.J. Culbreth, III, Eric Culbreth, Robert Gagne, Jr., Chris Culbreth, Jr., and Dennis Culbreth, Jr.

Honorary pallbearers will be William Douglas Walters, Cameron F. Ingram and Timothy Gagne.

The family wishes to extend special thanks to Guardian Angel Home Health Care, Mainland Medical Center’s CCU, Dr. Nickeson, and Texas City Dialysis.

In lieu of flowers the family has asked that donations be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
