PEARLAND — Mrs. Marion C. (Toni) Zachary passed from this life Monday morning, July 16, 2007, at her home.

Born January 7, 1918, in Galveston, Texas, Mrs. Zachary had been a lifelong resident of Santa Fe, having moved to Pearland 2 years ago. She was a homemaker, a member of All Saints’ Episcopal Church and enjoyed needlework.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 41 years, R. P. “Zach” Zachary and is survived by her daughters, Melissa Zachary Pride and husband, Ron of Friendswood, Marion Lee Zachary of Colorado Springs, Colorado; grandchildren, Ryan Pride, Rebecca Pride; granddog, Scooter Zachary; sisters-in-law, Ruby Coutorie of Houston, Clara Zachary of Sulphur, Louisiana; lifelong friend and neighbor, Elizabeth Cowan and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Thursday, July 19, 2007, at All Saints’ Episcopal Church in Hitchcock with Dr. David Kirkaldy officiating. A private entombment will be conducted under the direction of Hayes Funeral Home.

Friends may call from 5 - 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, 10412 Highway 6, (409) 925-3501.

Those who wish may make memorials in the form of donations to the All Saints’ Episcopal Church, 10416 Hwy 6, Hitchcock, TX 77563, A-Med Hospice, 8901 Emmett F. Lowry Expwy, Ste. B, Texas City, TX 77591 and/or Builders Without Borders of Texas, Inc., P.O. Box 1433, Friendswood, TX 77549.

SANTA FE — R. P. "Zach" Zachary, 69, died Sunday at Mainland Center Hospital in Texas City.

Services will be held at 10 a m Tuesday at All Saints Episcopal Church, the Rev. Gordon Gudger officiating.

Burial will follow at Grace Memorial Park lin Hitchcock.

Visitation will be 7-8:30 pm Monday at Hayes Funeral Home in Santa Fe.

Born Sept. 5, 1918, in Nacitoches Parish, La.

Mr. Zachary was a retired contract supervisor with Union Carbide, where he was employed for 32 years. He served in the U.S. Naval Reserve in W.W. II. He was a former trustee of Santa Fe I.S.D. and the first city inspector of the pity of Santa Fe. He was & member of AH Saints Episcopal Church; John Mitchell Lodge A.F. & A.M. #1401. Hitchcock; V.F.W. Post 5400; and the Board of Galveston Co. W C I D #8.

Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Marion Zachary of Santa Fe; his daughters, Melissa Zachary Pride of Piano and Marion Lee Petty of Allen; his brother, Rodney Allen Zachary of Clinton, La.; his sisters, Ruby Zachary Doughty of Kentwood, La., and Lydia Mae Hayes of Shreveport, La.; and one grandchild.

Pallbearers will be Phillip A. Yaws, John Anderson, Calvin Campbell, James Shaver, Joe Gibson and Clyde Lauzon.

Donations may be made to the American Heart Fund.
