LA MARQUE — Raymond M. Bowling, 82 of Texas City, died at his daughter's residence in La Marque, Friday, December 31, 2004. He lost his short battle with life due to complications from lung cancer.

Raymond was born April 17, 1922, in Delwin, Texas. Raymond served in the United States Coast Guard during World War II and was a letter carrier for the La Marque Post Office for eighteen years.

Raymond is preceded in death by his parents, Claude Raymond and Bertha Edith Bowling; wife, Mary Ella Jones Bowling and brother, Kenneth Bowling.

He is survived by daughters and sons-in-law, Patricia and Melvin David of Santa Fe, Linda and Bobby Armstrong of La Marque, and Anita Louise Bowling of Lake Buchanan Dam; sisters, Clara Wanda Jones, Ruth Biddy and George Ola Moore; grandchildren, Melvin David Jr., Raymond David and wife, Stacy, Timothy Armstrong and wife, Amee, Angela Calzada and husband, Jess, Charles Stanley, Terisa Clayton and husband, Jereamy, and Christopher Stanley; great-grandchildren, Brenna Blackburn, Briana Blackburn, Britain Blackburn, Clayton David, Micole Calzada, Son Sie Rae Espinoza and husband, Javier, Destiny Mattes, Shelby Clayton; great-great-grandchildren, Renai Espinoza and Javier Espinoza Jr.

A visitation will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., Monday, January 3, 2005, at James Crowder Funeral Home, La Marque. Services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, January 4th, at the funeral home, with Rev. Lynn Wilson officiating. Internment will follow at Grace Memorial Park, in Hitchcock.

Pallbearers will be Melvin David, Jr., Raymond David, Timothy Armstrong, Charles Stanley, Christopher Stanley and Gary Rodgers. Honorary pallbearers will be Jess Calzada and Larry Moreno.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice Care Team, 1708 Amburn Rd., Suite C, Texas City, Texas 77591. The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to the Hospice Care Team, especially to Nurse, Vonnie and the aides.
