GALVESTON— Flora Louise Jud, age 94, departed from this life to enter into eternal rest on Wednesday, March 23, 2005, at Gulf Health Care Nursing Center in Galveston. She was born on March 28, 1910. Mrs. Jud was a homemaker and was a member of First Lutheran Church and Altar Guild for many years.

She was preceded in death by her husband Arnold E. Jud; and son Arnold L. Jud; sisters Milda Jud and Norma Dean; brothers Theodore, Lee, Lawrence and August Kunkel.

She is survived by her granddaughters Lori Macias and husband Manuel and Sheri Castillo and husband Albert; great-granddaughters Jennifer Macias, Kristina Macias and great-grandson Erik Castillo; brother Herbert Kunkel of Waco, Texas; nieces Flora Del, Jeanette Kunkel, Nettie Mae, Patricia Lowe and Sandy Peterson; and nephews Clifford Jud and David Kunkel.

Visitation will be held on Monday, March 28, 2005, at J. Levy & Bro. Funeral Home from 5 – 7 p.m. Graveside services will be held on Tuesday, March 29, 2005, at 10 a.m. at Grace Memorial Park Cemetery in Hitchcock, Texas, with Reverend Douglas Guthier officiating.

A special thanks to Gulf Health Care Center and also Hospice Care Team for taking such good care of our Grandmother.

To our Nonie (Flora), your kindness, caring and never ending willingness to help others will remain in our hearts forever. We will miss you dearly, The Macias and Castillo families.

GALVESTON —Arnold Ernest Jud, 88, of Galveston died March 31,1997, at his residence. He was born December 11,1908, in Erie, Pennsylvania. He worked for the Santa Fe Railroad for 43 years as a box car engineer.

Mr. Jud was very devoted to his church where he served as an usher since 1946, and was also church statistician.

He is survived by bis wife of 62 years, Flora Jud, a son, Arnold Lee Jud, two granddaughters, Lori Macias and Sheri Castillo, great-grandchildren, Jennifer and Kristina Macias and Erik Castillo, two brothers, Gene Jud and Gerald Jud and two sisters, Dorothy Devries and Martha Frankhauser.

His family will remember his courage and strong will and he will be deeply missed.

Visitation was Wednesday evening at J. Levy & Bro. Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 2:00 p.m. at the First Lutheran Church with Pastor David Hoh officiating.

Pallbearers will be Manuel Macias, Al Castillo, Oscar Ekelund, Carroll EJfstrom, Jack Danner and Roger Zimmerman.
