HITCHCOCK - Mr. Robert George Nuss passed from this life Friday, December 1, 2006, in Galveston.

Born June 7,1922 in South Lebanon, Ohio, Mr. Nuss had been a resident of Hitchcock since 1956. He had served in United States Air Force during WWII and had been employed with Santa Fe Railroad for 45 years as a clerk, retiring in 1986. A member of First United Methodist Church in Hitchcock, Mr. Nuss was a former Hitchcock ISD school board member, school aid and volunteer, former past local president of the Railroad Clerks Union, a Lay speaker at the Moody House in Galveston and an avid reader. He will be lovingly remembered as a devoted husband, father and son.

He was preceded in death by his son, Robert David Nuss; parents, David Hess and Lilly Arlette (McLean) Nuss and a sister, Juanita Duytschaever.

Survivors include his beloved wife of over 53 years, Joyce Nuss; daughter and son-in-law, Andrea and Kenneth Guindon of Texas City; brother, Jack D. Nuss of Hitchcock and sisters-in-law, Martha Tyner of Overton and Barbara Dickerson of Kilgore.

Graveside services will be conducted 10:00 a.m. Monday, December 4, 2006, at Grace Memorial Park with Reverend Howard Bruce officiating. Entombment will follow under the direction of Hayes Funeral Home.
