GALVESTON - Glen Norman Boyd Sr., 78, died Tuesday, December 22, 1998, at Vencor Hospital, NW, Houston, Texas. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, December 28, 1998, at Carnes Brothers Funeral Home, 1201 Tremont, Galveston, Texas, with Father Matt Holohan, O.F.M., officiating. Interment will be at Grace Memorial Park, Hitchcock, Texas. Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Sunday, December 27,1998, at the funeral home, with a Vigil for the Deceased and rosary to be held at 6:00 p.m..

Mr. Boyd was born July 19, 1920, in Alto, Texas to Albert
and Katie Boyd. He served in The U.S. Army before and during WW II, earning all of the medals and awards of his various units serving as Dental Technician at the time of his honorable discharge. He was employed as a heavy equipment operator for the Southern Pacific Transport Company in Galveston until his retirement. He was a long time member of the National Rifle Association and the Itexas State Rifle Association and loved the sport of hunting. He was excellent in the field of TV repair, always willing to help his friends and neighbors.

At the time of his death he was a member of the St. Patrick Catholic Church of Galveston.

Preceded in death by his parents and brothers and sisters,

Mr. Boyd is survived by his wife, Lillian Boyd of Galveston; daughter, Suzanne Matejowsky and husband, Ronald of Galveston; son, Glenn Boyd Jr. and wife, Vivien of Pahndale, California; 5 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.

Pallbearers will be members of the family and friends.
