Joe was born February 18, 1924 in Wheeler, Texas to the late Preston Edward and Ethel (Muse) Lowrie. On January 20, 1951 he married Wanda Lea "Todd" Kamm in Clovis, New Mexico.
In 1947 he enrolled in Southwestern State University in Weatherford, OK where he was a pharmacy major. Joe owned and operated Lowrie Drug in Crosbyton from 1953 to 1980.
Joe was a US Navy Veteran of WWII and received a purple heart.
Survivors include; his wife; Todd of Crosbyton, three sons; Marc of Amarillo, Cameron and his wife Kerri of Crosbyton, Jeff of Dickens, a sister; Alice Faye Wilkins of Amarillo, three grandchildren; Jennifer Schultz of Irving, Tex., Erin Lowrie of Bella Vista, Ark., and Matthew Lowrie of Bentonville, Ark.
