SANTA FE — Katherine Joy Rhames, 84, passed away on Wednesday, November 9, 2011 in Santa Fe, TX. She was born on July 7, 1927 in Crowley, La to Ethel Spell and Marion Hoffpauir. Katherine was a life member of Ladies Auxiliary of La Marque VFW. She was a resident of Santa Fe for 30 years and longtime resident of La Marque, TX.

Katherine is preceded in death by her husband Harold Norman Rhames and son Ernie "Scooter" Smith.
She is survived by her daughters Marilyn Rhames of Santa Fe and Carrie Barber and husband Steve of Hitchcock; son Gene Smith and wife Kathy of La Marque; sister Geraldine Sarver of Crowley, LA; 6 grandchildren, Ronald Smith, Ernie Smith, Melissa Curtice, Tommy Fraser, Mistie Peterson and Harold Rhames and 13 great grandchildren.

Visitation will be 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Friday, November 11, 2011 at the funeral home. Funeral Service will be on Saturday, November 12, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. at the James Crowder Funeral Home in La Marque, TX with Pastor Bob Sarrichio officiating. Interment will follow at Grace Memorial Park in Hitchcock, TX.

Pallbearers will be Ronald Smith, Ernie Smith, Tommy Fraser, David Peterson, Harold Rhames and Kevin Smith.

SANTA FE, Texas — Harold Norman Rhames, 72, of Santa
Fe, Texas, passed away Thursday, February 18,1999, at Clear Lake Regional Hospital in Webster, Texas.

He was born January 6,1927, in Charlotte, North Carolina,
had resided in Santa Fe for 18 years, formerly of La Marque. Mr. Rhames was a veteran of WWII serving in the U. S. Navy, a member of American Legion Post 89 of Texas City and the La Marque V. F. W. No. 8248.

He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Katherine Rhames of Santa Fe; two daughters Marilyn Rhames and Carrie Fraser both of Santa Fe; one son. Gene Smith of La Marque; two sisters, Dorothy Rhames of Atlanta, Georgia and Becky Mills of Charlotte, North Carolina; four brothers, James Rhames of Waynesboro, Virginia, Lewis Rhames, Scott Rhames and Raymond Rhames all of Charlotte, North Carolina; six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

A visitation will be held from
4:00-8:00 p.m., Sunday at the
James Crowder Funeral Home
in La Marque. Funeral services
will be at the funeral home at
11:00 a.m. Monday, February
22, 1999, with the Rev. Leo
Smith officiating. Entombment will follow services at Grace
Memorial Park, Hitchcock,
Texas. The Dickinson V.F.W.
Post will conduct honorary services
at the graveside.

Pallbearers will be, Ronald Smith, Ernie Smith, Tommy
Fraser, Harold Rhames, Tim Curtice, Chad Cleveland. Honorary pallbearers will be the members of V.F.W. Post No. 8248.

Memorials may be made
to the American Cancer Society.
