SANFORD - Winfred Vernon, 85, died Friday, May 16, 2003, in Amarillo.

Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery with the Rev. Bill Gehm, pastor of Grace Community Church, officiating. Arrangements are by Minton/Chatwell Funeral Directors of Fritch.

Mr. Vernon was a resident of Sanford for 60 years. He served in the Army during World War II and the Korean conflict.

Survivors include a daughter, Shirley Miller of Amarillo; two sisters, Malee DuBose of Donna and Leatrice Fojt of La Feria; and a grandson.

Lorene V. Vernon, 60, of Phillips Camp in Sanford, died at 2:45 p.m. Thursday in Golden Plains Community Hospital.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Minton Memorial Chapel with Mr. Bill Dunaway of Fritch officiating. Burial will be in Westlawn Memorial Park by Minton-Chatwell Funeral Directors.

A native of Princeton, Texas, she was a homemaker and a Hutchinson County resident for 34 years. She was a member of the Church of Christ.

Survivors include her husband, W.E.; a daughter, Mrs. Shirley Pennington of Amarillo; a sister, Mrs. Viola Scott of Dumas; two brothers, John Blue of Albuquerque, N.M., and Daniel Blue of Salina, Kan.; and one grandson.
