Mary Jane Yaws, 82, passed from this life Tuesday, Sept. 20, 2005, at her home. Born April 21, 1923, in Alton, she had been a resident of Santa Fe for 23 years, having previously lived in Alton for 59 years. She had been a devoted wife, mother and sister and a wonderful grandmother. A very brave lady, she enjoyed crossword puzzles and looking at her crepe myrtles and was an avid viewer of Smackdown on Thursday evenings. Survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law, Phyllis and Scott Stegner of Cedar Hill, Texas, andCarol and Joe Roddy of Austin, Texas; two grandchildren, Phillip Stegner and Michael Keffales; a brother, Frank Huber Jr. of Godfrey; and a sister, Eugenia Hassmann of Alton. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 58 years, Phillip Andrew Yaws, and her parents, Frank Sr. and Margueritte Huber. Friends may call from 5 to 7 p.m. today at the chapel of Hayes Funeral Home in Santa Fe, where the Rev. Van Lazaroff will conduct funeral services 2 p.m. Friday. Entombment will follow at Grace Memorial Park Mausoleum. Casketbearers will be Michael Keffales, William Kimberly, Joe Roddy, Phillip Stegner, Scott Stegner and Neil Yaws. SANTA FE — Mr. Phillip Andrew Yaws passed from this life Tuesday morning, November 23, 2004, in Texas City.

Born March 2, 1922, in Alta Loma, Mr. Yaws has been a resident of Santa Fe for 22 years, previously of Alton, Illinois. He had been a truck driver and longtime member of the Teamsters Union before his retirement, a member of the Alvin Masonic Lodge and a trustee with the WCID #8. Mr Yaws served in the US Air Force and was a devoted father and grandfather, who loved his grandsons with all his heart.

Survivors include his wife of over 58 years, Mary Jane Yaws, of Santa Fe; daughters and sons-in-law, Phyllis and Scott Stegner, of Cedar Hill, Carol and Joe Roddy, of Austin; brother, Harry Yaws, of Dallas; sister, Elizabeth Cowan, of Santa Fe; grandsons, Phillip Stegner and Michael Keffales; numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, November 7, 2004, in the chapel of Hayes Funeral Home, with Reverend Van Lazaroff officiating. Entombment will follow at Grace Memorial Park Cemetery.

Casketbearers will be Bill Dyda, William Kimberly, Mike Nelson, Myron Perry, Tim Turner and Daniel Woitena.
