E.A.(MIKE) CONNALLY passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving daughters on Friday, June 18th, 2010. He was born on February 4th, 1930 to Edmond Reed and Beatrice Connally in Bryan, Texas.

He graduated from LaPorte High School and attended Texas A & M University. He later enlisted in the Air National Guard and the United States Air Force, receiving an honorable discharge. He was stationed in Spokane, Washington as a staff sergeant where he met his wife, Donnette Neidhart. He brought her to Texas and resided in Texas City until their passing. He was employed as an Operator and Pipefitter with Local Union 211 at both Monsanto and Sterling Chemical for 45 years. For many years, he was the Santa Claus "helper" on 14th street where he took pride in giving enjoyment and happiness to all of the children in Texas City. He took great pride decorating his yard and Santa's house every year and receiving several awards for his service to the community.

Mike was a loving, caring, and giving father, grandfather, and friend. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Donnette Connally and sister, Betty Frieberger. Mike leaves to cherish his memories, his loving daughters, Dana Zeringue (Ronnie) of Texas City; Kim Gerbich (Chris) of West Columbia; grandchildren, Chad and Stacie Zeringue of Pensacola, Florida and Alyssa and Christian Gerbich of West Columbia; sisters, Pat Westegren, Joy deJongh; brother, Bill Connally along with several nieces and nephews; and his dear and special friend, Dorothy Jones of Texas City. We would like to thank her for the unending devotion she gave to our family during our time of need.

The family would like to express their deep appreciation and gratitude to the staff of Bayou Pines for their genuine and loving care that they gave our father during his last days. Their friendship and kindness meant the world to our father and to his family.

A visitation will be held Monday, June 21st, 2010 from 6:00 – 8:00 pm at the James Crowder Funeral Home in LaMarque, Texas.
