James T. Isbell, 72, of Ralls, departed this life on September 24, 2014 with his family by his side. James was born to John and Adelia Isbell on April 14, 1942 in Paducah, Texas.
He was the only one of seven children to be born in a hospital. He met and married his wife of 54 years in Arizona. They moved to Ralls in 1969, where they raised their three children. James served the Crosby County Community for over 31 years. He retired from Law Enforcement, went on to serve as Justice of the Peace, retiring in 2004. He continued serving as security at Silver Falls until he could no longer physically serve. James also served the community by mentoring and inspiring people in both his professional and personal life. He participated in youth activities such as boy scouts and little league baseball.
James is preceded in death by his parents, John and Adelia Isbell, three brothers, Jack, Lynn, and Bill Isbell, two sisters, Lena Mae Ramsey and Lymoin Gipson, and one grandson, Kyle “Blue” Isbell.
He is survived by his wife, Linda Isbell of Ralls, two sons; Jimmy Isbell of Lorenzo, Johnny and wife Brenda Isbell of Lubbock, one daughter; Jeannette Arledge of Lubbock, one sister; Bobbie Jo Grisham, six grandchildren; Ryan Isbell, Kasi Isbell, Maeghan, Kimber, & Koltyn Arledge, Jocinda and husband Donnie Horn, and three great-grandchildren.
Memorial services will be held at 3:00 P.M. Tuesday, September 30, 2014 at the First Baptist Church of Ralls.
