LORENZO-Jimmie G. Walker, 87, of Lorenzo passed away Wednesday, Oct. 2, 2013, in Lubbock. Graveside services were held at 10 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 3, 2013, at the Lorenzo Cemetery.
Jimmie was born June 17, 1926, to Oco and Pearl Walker. After graduation he attended Texas Tech University and then was drafted in the Army for WWII.
He married Billie Jo Cate on Jan. 7, 1949.
Jimmie farmed 58 cotton seasons before he retired. He was a board member of the PCCA, as well as a Gin Board member of the Lorenzo CO-OP.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Billie Walker in 1999. He was also preceded by three brothers, O.H. Walker, Donald Wayne Walker, and Bill Walker; and one sister, Margie Williams; as well as two great-grandchildren.
Jimmie is survived by one son, Glen Walker of Lorenzo; two daughters, Janice McClaran of Lorenzo, Judy and husband Les Gilmore, also of Lorenzo; five grandchildren, Sheila McClaran, Vicki Dorris, Sondra Zuber, Maurry Powe, and Ryan Walker; and eight great-grandchildren.
