Graveside services for Cora Norman, 87, of Plainview, formerly of Lorenzo and Seymour, will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, May 31, in the Lorenzo Cemetery with Rev. Dennis Williams officiating. Burial is under direction of Adams Funeral Home of Lorenzo. Mrs. Norman passed away Friday, May 28, 2004, at Santa Fe House in Plainview.
She was born July 11, 1916, in Bonham, Texas, to William Washington and Vera Walker Keen. She married Horace Norman on July 21, 1935, in Vera, Texas. He preceded her in death Jan. 4, 1987. She was a member of Lorenzo First Baptist Church and the Seymour Senior Citizens where she was a former Senior Citizen of the month. She was a graduate of McBride Davis Beauty School in Lubbock. She was a practical nurse and had worked at Crosbyton Hospital and a Plainview nursing home. She is preceded in death by her parents and by a son, Bobby Dan Norman.
Survivors include a son, Sam Norman of Amarillo; three daughters, Jan Bownds and Nita Stone, both o f Seymour, and Beth Marlar of Lorenzo; 17 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and 7 great-great- grandchildren.
