LORENZO - George Grady O'Rear, 79, of Lorenzo passed away on Wednesday, May 2, 2012 at Heritage Oaks in Lubbock.

Graveside services will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, May 5, 2012, at the Lorenzo Cemetery with Rev. Cam Givan officiating under the personal care of Adams Funeral Home of Lorenzo.

George was born in Lorenzo, on March 9, 1933, to George Tink and Etta (Tate) O'Rear. He was a member of the Lorenzo First United Methodist Church. George worked at his family's business, O'Rear Grocery store for several years, which is now Pay-N'Save. He graduated from Lorenzo High school and enlisted in the US Army.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Roy O'Rear and S.E. O'Rear; and one sister, Lovetta O'Rear.

Survivors include his niece, Doris Hall; his nephew, Samuel O'Rear; six great-nephews and nieces, Craig Hall, Brian Hall, Heather Prather, Christie Johnson, Lee Cheves, Eric O'Rear; and eight great-great nephews and nieces, Ramie Hall, Sean Hall, Jessica Prather, Tyler Prather, Alex Garcia, Matthew O'Rear, Carolyn Johnson and Katie Cheves.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to American Cancer Society Hope Lodge, 3511 10th St, Lubbock TX 79415 www.adamsfuneral.com.
