Johnnie Tarleton went to be with her Lord on April 18, 2014 in San Angelo Texas. Johnnie was born October 23, 1921 in Cone Texas to Roy and Ruth Gott Hopkins. Her mother passed away two weeks after giving birth and she was raised by her grandparents Chad and Mamie Gott of Cone Texas. Johnnie moved from Cone to Ralls with her grandparents in 1921. She graduated from Ralls High School in 1939.She married M.L. "Mac" Tarleton on May 22, 1946. Johnnie lived in Ralls, Caprock, Crosbyton, Pearce AZ; Ruidoso, N.M. and in San Angelo Texas for more than 30 Years.

During WWII she worked as a riveter repairing airplanes ar Reese Air Force Base in Lubbock before being transferred to a desk job since her toolbox weighed almost as much as her. She worked at Cochise Indian Trading Post in Sunsites, AZ. And was the Assistant Postmaster in Pearce, AZ. She also worked for the Ruidoso Valley Chamber of Commerce and managed Ruidoso Reservations. Johnnie played the piano at Caprock Baptist Church, was in the choir at First Baptist Church of Crosbyton, and played the organ for many years at the Community Church of Sunsites in Pearce AZ. She was a member of Lifepoint Baptist Church of San Angelo. She loved Christ, attending church and music. Johnnie loved gardening and always had a beautiful yard.

She is preceded in death by her husband of 46 years.

She is survived by her son Jeffrey Lantz and his wife Rosemary Tarleton of Coppell, Texas, and a grandson Travis Lantz Tarleton who is attending Texas Tech University.
