*Obituary

Pauline Bates Wheeler, 61, 1510 Gawain, died Saturday, May 30, in her home.

A homemaker and nurse, she was a native of Garden City, Kansas and a Borger resident since 1959.

She was a member of the First United Methodist Church, active in Girl Scouts for many years, and a member of Paragon Club, United Methodist Women Dorcas Circle. She was a graduate of the University of Kansas Medical Center.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at First United Methodist Church with Dr. Ihsan Ardhuerumly, pastor, officiating.

Burial will be in Westlawn Memorial Park under the direction of Minton/Chatwell Funeral Directors of Borger.

Casketbearers will be Bill Wyatt, Chris Pearson, Ross Josephson, LeRoy Pendleton, Wayne Cox and Max Nuttall.

Honorary casketbearers will be her prayer group and Kum Dubl Sunday School Class.

Memorials may be made to the local mission fund at the First United Methodist Church or to American Cancer Society.

She is survived by her husband, Dr. Jim Wheeler of the home; two sons, Mike Wheeler of Jewett, Texas, Douglas Wheeler of Garland; one daughter, Janet Wheeler Moore of Arlington; one brother, Joe Bates of Annapolis, Maryland; a sister, Virginia Kolle of Wharton; four grandchildren.
