RALLS - Olen C. Thomas, 87, died Saturday, Sept. 30, 1989, in Crosbyton.
Services will be at 10 a.m. today in Emma Church of Christ with Dennis May, minister, officiating. Burial will be in Ralls Cemetery by Carter-Adams Funeral Home.
Mr. Thomas was born in Mill. He married Opal Thomas in 1935 at Austin. In 1926 he graduated from North Texas Teachers College in Denton. In 1924, he began teaching and coaching at Crosbyton High School. He was a teacher at Spur High School, was principal from 1927 to 1930 and the superintendent of Spur schools from 1935-1943. In 1943 he moved to Ralls and served as superintendent of schools until 1946. He also was a farmer and a former postmaster at Ralls. He was active in Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts and served as a comissioner of Comanche Trail District of Boy Scouts. He was a member of the Ralls Rotary Club and was a past master of Emma Masonic Lodge No. 931.
Survivors include his wife; a son, Jim Thomas of Houston; a daughter, Francene Ferrel of Estelline; and four grandchildren.
