Services for Leslie E. Treat, 81, of Abilene were held at 3 p.m. Friday, Jan. 12, 1990, in Southern Hills Church of Christ in Abilene with Robert Oglesby and Ed Hamil officiating.
Additional services were held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 13, 1990, in the Crosbyton Church of Christ with Jim York, minister, and Loyd Hall of Gatesville officiating.

Burial followed in Crosbyton Cemetery under direction of Adams Funeral Home.

He died at 10;14 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 10, 1990, in Hendricks Medical Center in Abilene after a lengthy illness.

He was born Feb. 13, 1908, in Hill County. He married Marjorie Lucille Lovelady July 17, 1938, in Bowie. She preceded him in death June 22, 1978.

Mr. Treat graduated from Cromwell High School, Cromwell, OK. He graduated from Abilene Christian College in 1935 with a bachelor of science degree in education and from Hardin-Simmons University in 1955 with a masterĀ“s degree in business administration.

He taught in Cromwell and Mt. Home in Oklahoma and in Texas in Bomarton, Trent, Imperial and, for 24 years, in the Crosbyton schools, serving as junior high teacher, junior high principal, elementary principal and lunchroom manager. He retired in 1973 after 35 years in education. He was a former member of the Crosbyton Lions, serving as secretary for several years. He was an elder of the Crosbyton Church of Christ for 16 years before moving to Abilene in 1986. He was a member of the Southern Hill Church of Christ in Abilene.

Survivors include a son, James of San Antonio; two daughters, Marilyn Trabold of Abilene and Jody Conner of Fort worth; a brother, Percy Treat of Woodville; a sister, Juanita Smart of Wewoka, OK: and six grandchildren.
