Funeral services for James Garvin Whitmire, 53, of Phillips Camp, Sanford are pending with Minton Mortuary.

Whitmire died at 3:30 a.m. today in High Plains Baptist Hospital in Amarillo.

He was employed as an engine operator for Phillips Petroleum Company.

He was an army veteran of World War II.

Survivors include his wife Pat of the home; a son, James, of the home; two daughters, Carolyn of the home and Mrs. Violet Albright of Lubbock; a brother, Marvin of Lubbock; a sister, Mrs. Billy J. Braswell of Amarillo; and two grandchildren.
