J.P. PARKER IS DEAD

"Mr. J.P. Parker, one of our most respected and prosperous farmers, is dead. His death occured last Tuesday and is regreted by a large number of friends in this community. The causes of his death was apoplexy and he died soon after the stroke.

Mr. Parker came here about two years ago from Nebraska and purchased a large tract of land about five miles north of Crosbyton and was considered one of our wealthiest and best citizens. He was born in Ohio sixty-two years ago, and had lived in the State of Nebraska thirty years before coming here. The interment will take place at the Crosbyton Cemetry Saturday and services will be held at the Parker residence north of town on that day, 1 p.m.

He leaves surviving him a widow and five grown children, all living here, viz: Andy, Wallace, John, Charley and Mrs. Nina Pearson. He was a man who always took a prominent part in public affairs. Crosby county, as well his immediate family, has suffered a great loss through the death of this good man."
