Services for Aubrey "Buddy" Payne, 71, of Idalou will be at 2 p.m., Sunday, Nov. 19, 2006 at the Idalou Church of Christ with John Reeves and Travis Sursa officiating. Burial will follow in the Ralls Cemetery under the direction of Adams Funeral Home of Ralls.

Buddy passed away Wednesday, Nov. 15, 2006 at University Medical Center in Lubbock.

He was born Sept. 7, 1935 in Ralls, to the late J. W. and Tina Maude (Sursa) Payne. On Aug. 16, 1963 he married Norma Archer in Lubbock.

He was a member of the Idalou Church of Christ and had served as an elder at the Emma Church of Christ in Ralls. He moved to Idalou in 1999 from Ralls where he had lived all his life. He was a farmer and a veteran of the US Army where he was stationed in Germany.

Survivors include his wife, Norma of Idalou; two sons and their wives, Jeff and Kristi Payne of Idalou, Lloyd and Suzanne Payne of Lubbock; two sisters and their husbands, Peggy and Donald Aycock of Lorenzo, Rita and Gary Bodensteiner of Clarksville, Tenn.; and three grandchildren, Jordan, Riley and Lauren.


The family suggests memorials to Idalou EMS at P. O. Box 1277 Idalou, TX 79329, Children's Home of Lubbock, 4404 Idalou Hwy Lubbock, Texas 79403 or Texas Boy's Ranch at P. O. Box 5665, Lubbock, Texas 79408.
