Memorial services for Cleta Maurine Carroll, 89, of Brownfield will be 11am, Wednesday, June 19, 2013 at Calvary Baptist Church with Johnny Long and Jon Patrick officiating. Burial will be in Terry County Memorial Cemetery under the direction of Brownfield Funeral Home.

Cleta passed away Sunday, June 16, 2013 in Brownfield. She was born December 15, 1923 to John Thomas and Ada Belle (Cantrell) Garner. Cleta married C.S. "Spurg" Carroll on February 10, 1946 in Meadow. He preceded her in death on October 23, 2001. She was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church. She was also a member of Challis Baptist Church, where she was the church pianist and a Sunday school teacher there for 60 years. Cleta was a substitute teacher for the Brownfield and Meadow Schools for 20 years.

Cleta is also preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Vicki Jan Carroll; 2 brothers, Robert and Hap Garner; a sister, Roberta Carter.

Cleta is survived by her daughter, Linda Beck and husband Scott of Brownfield; a son, Lynn Carroll and wife Keitha of Meadow; grandchildren, Shaunna Keeton and husband Rodney of Lubbock, Clint Holland and wife Kim of Lubbock, Jeremy Beck and wife Melissa of Brownfield, Brandi Carroll of Lubbock, Melissa Nagengast and husband Jeff of Flower Mound, Clif Carroll and wife Beth of Abilene, Lynce Carroll and wife Tosha of Brownfield, Kristin Sellers and husband Chris of Lubbock; 11 great grandchildren; a sister, Avenell Armstrong and husband J.C.; sister-in-laws, Ollie Ellen Moore, Gen Garner and Faye Carroll.
