Clarine "Mamaw" Baccus, 88, of Brownfield passed away Monday, April 9, 2007 in Lubbock. Services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday, April 12, 2007 at the Brownfield First Baptist Church with Rev. Randy Land officiating. Internment will follow at the Terry County Memorial Cemetery.
Clarine was born Dec. 20, 1918 to Clarence and Beulah Browning in Tulsa, Oklahoma. She grew up in Rocksprings, Texas. She married M.W. "Jack" Baccus on Oct. 11, 1947 in Del Rio, Texas. They moved to Terry County in 1955 where they farmed until retiring in 1984. He preceded her in death on Feb. 14, 1986.
She was a member of First Baptist Church in Brownfield.
She is survived by three sons, William P. O'Connell and his wife Barbara of Houston, Gary Baccus and his wife Jana of Oklahoma City, and Duane Baccus and his wife Leslie of Carrollton, Texas; two daughters, Darleen Holladay and her husband Billy of Corinth, Texas, and Susan Russell and her husband Mark of Valley View, Texas; 14 grandchildren, Trey O'Connell, Trent O'Connell,
Troy O'Connell, Marcy Burnett, Tracy Kendrick, Davney Bunch, Matt Paul, Stephanie Frederick, Jeff Russell, Drew Baccus, Ashley Baccus, Corri Peterson, Kimberly Baccus, and Kelsey Baccus; and 18 great grandchildren. The family will receive friends at Brownfield Funeral Home from 6 p.m. until 7 p.m. Wednesday, April 11, 2007. Mamaw leaves a rich heritage of love and Christian faith to her whole family.
