Donald Aycock, 81, of Lorenzo passed away December 1, 2012 in Lubbock Texas after a lengthy illness. A visitation will be held Monday December 3, 2012 from 6 until 7 p.m. at Adams Funeral Home in Lorenzo. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday December 4, 2012 at the First Baptist Church of Lorenzo with the Rev. Kris Knippa officiating. Burial will follow at the Ralls Cemetery under the care of Adams Funeral Home of Lorenzo. Donald was born August 7, 1931 at the Wheeler Ranch House in Robertson to Marvin and Jessie Wheeler Aycock. He married Peggy Payne on June 16, 1952 in Ralls Texas. Donald was a proud graduate of Robertson High School and started farming in the 1950 s. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Lorenzo. He was very innovative in his farming business being one of the first in the area to have a module builder and a pivot irrigation system. He also loved working with cattle and horses. Donald loved spending time with his family and friends. He loved helping young men get started in their lives helping many through the years. Donald served on the Lorenzo School Board and for many years was an avid sports fan. He was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Peggy; two sons, Brad Aycock and Brian Aycock both of Lorenzo; a daughter, Gayla Aycock of Plainview; one brother, Wendell Aycock of Lubbock; two sisters, Mary Webb of Ga. and Betty Johnson of Lorenzo; seven grandchildren, Cory, Chase, Scarlette, Brandon, Stephen, Ethan, and Michael Aycock; and four great-grandchildren, Nick, Maddie, Evy, and Avery Aycock. The family suggests memorials to the First Baptist Church of Lorenzo 211 Tyler Ave. Lorenzo Texas 79343 or to Odyssey Hospice of Lubbock.
