Graveside services for Mary Poteet, 91, of Lubbock will be at 2 p.m. Friday, Nov. 12, 2004, in the Ralls Cemetery with Joe Wayne Burks officiating. Arrangements are under direction of Adams Funeral Home of Ralls. Mrs. Poteet passed away Tuesday, Nov. 9, 2004, at the Lubbock Hospitality House. Mary Elizabeth (James) Poteet was born July 22, 1913 in Blue, Okla. to R.L. "Bob" and Laura (Burton) James.
She married Sammie "Uncle Sam" Poteet May 13, 1932. He passed away Nov. 10, 1985, after 53 years of marriage. She was a member of the Emma Church of Christ in Ralls and was a homemaker. Survivors include two sons, Don R. Poteet of Anchorage, Ala., Rita Gale Poteet of Lubbock, and Jim E. Poteet and wife Nancy of Lubbock; six grandchildren, Pam Valko, Danny, Katherine, Charlotte and Cynthia Poteet, and Melinda Poteet Scott; six great-grandchildren, Kami Brock Land, Evan Poteet, Sarah Brock, Allen D. Scott III (Trey), and Sterling and Winston Scott; two step-great-grandchildren, C harles and Bryan Raubacker.
