John Scott Bachtell, 63, of Stinnett, died of a heart attack suffered in his home at 9:30 yesterday morning. He succumbed enroute to the North Plains Hospital.

He attended the Christian Church in Stinnett and was a member of the Stinnett V.F.W., a veteran of World War One.

Bachtell was a retired oil driller, associated with Herrmann Bros. Drilling Contractors.

Survivors include his wife, Mrs. J.S. Bachtell of Stinnett, daughter Mrs. J.A. Scheriger of Odessa, son O.O. Bachtell of Pauls Valley, brother Daniel S. Bachtell of Long Beach, Calif. and Howard Bachtell of Cavetown, Md.

Funeral services are pending at Minton Funeral Home.
