Services for Reece Franklin, 91, of Lubbock will be 2:30 p.m. Saturday in Englund's Chapel with the Rev. Gaylon Taylor officiating and the Rev. Bob Bohannon assisting.
Burial will be in Slaton's Englewood Cemetery under the direction of Englund's Funeral Service of Slaton.
He died Thursday, July 18, 2002.
He was born May 1, 1911, in Gainsboro, Tenn. He moved to Honey Grove in 1917. He married Clyde Hamilton on Nov. 23, 1929, in Hugo, Okla. She died Jan. 27, 2002. He served in the Army as an engineer during World War II.
He lived in Sweetwater and was employed by Safeway before moving to Lubbock in 1958. He worked at Lubbock National Bank until 1966. He lived in Sweetwater from 1986 to 1996 before returning to Lubbock. He was a member of the Church of God in Lubbock.
He was preceded in death by a son, Glenn, in 1993.
Survivors include a daughter, Maybell Messer of Lubbock; a son, Roy R. of Sweetwater; nine grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren.

Services for Clyde Franklin, 88, of Lubbock will be at 3:30 p.m. Tuesday in Englunds Chapel with the Revs. Garland Taylor and Steve Bohannon officiating.
Burial will be in Englewood Cemetery under the direction of Englunds Funeral Service.
She died Sunday, Jan. 27, 2002.
She was born Oct. 30, 1913, in Commerce. She married Reece Franklin on Nov. 23, 1929, in Hugo, Okla. They lived in East Texas until moving to Sweetwater in 1949. They moved to Lubbock in 1996. She was a homemaker and a member of the Church of God.
A son, Alton Glenn Franklin, died Aug. 23, 1993.
Survivors include her husband; a son, Roy R. of Sweetwater; a daughter, Maybell Messer of Lubbock; a brother, J.T. Hamilton of Pendleton, Ore.; three sisters, Hazel Phillips of Snyder and Wanda Stevens and Georgia Slaton, both of Sweetwater; nine grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren.
