Onial D. Birch, 76, Borger, died Saturday, April 1, 1995 in High Plains Baptist Hospital in Amarillo.

Funeral services were at 10 a.m. today at Fairlanes Baptist Church, with the Rev. Art McAnninch, pastor, officiating.

Burial was in Memory Gardens Cemetery in Pampa by Minton-Chatwell Funeral Directors of Borger.

A native of Elmore City, Okla., he had been a Borger resident since 1941. He was an employee of Phillips Petroleum Company from 1941-1984 and was an engineer and retired from the accounting department.

He was a former member of First Baptist Church of Phillips, and was a member of Fairlanes Baptist Church and a former member of the church choir. He was a member of the Frank Phillips Choir from 1986-1987.

He graduated from East Central State College in Ada, Okla. in 1940.

He married Doris Whatley of Feb. 13, 1940 in Atoka, Okla.

Survivors include his wife; a son, Tommy Birch of Borger; two daughters, Karen Demings of Plano; and Dewana Mitter of Canyon; a sister, Winniebelle Cowan of Sulphur, Okla.; 9 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

Casketbearers were John Waitis, Philip Demings, Thom Scott, Casey Birch, Scott Wells, and Kyle Middleton.

Memorials may be made to the Gideon ministry.
