E.J. "Bud" Blankenship, 48, of 204 Osage, died at 1:30 p.m. Friday in his home.

Services are set for 2 p.m. Monday at Riverview Baptist Church with the Rev. Jimmy Gillmore, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Highland Park Cemetery by Minton-Chatwell Funeral Directors.

An operator for Fish Construction Company, Mr. Blankenship was born in Scottsville, Ky. He had been a Borger resident for 38 years.

He was a member of the Riverview Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife, LaVerne, three sons, Larry and Terry, both of Borger, and Randy of the home; two daughters, Mrs. Cheryl Brown of Fritch and Tammie of the home; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Elzie Elmer Blankenship of Stinnett; a brother, Jerry of Stinnett; three sisters, Mrs. Precilla Irvin and Mrs. Sue Doughten, both of Stinnett; and Mrs. Frances Ford of Borger; and seven grandchildren.

LaVerne Blankenship, 63, Borger, died Friday, Jan. 12, 1996 in Golden Plains Community Hospital.

Funeral services were at 10:30 a.m. today at Riverview Baptist Church with the Rev. Jimmy Gillmore, pastor, officiating.

Burial was in Highland Park Cemetery by Minton-Chatwell Funeral Directors of Borger.

A native of Quanah, she had been a Borger resident for 43 years. She was a cafeteria worker at Borger Middle School. She was a member of Riverview Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband "Bud" on June 26, 1981; a grandson; and three brothers.

Survivors include three sons, Larry Blankenship, Terry Blankenship, and Randy Blankenship, all of Borger; two daughters, Tammie Alejandro of Borger; and Cheryl Brown of Fritch; two brothers, J.R. Dennington of Bonham; and Leroy Dennington of Tulsa, Okla.; 11 grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.

Casketbearers were J.D. Cheatwood, Alton Cheatwood, Jerald McDonald, Leon McDonald, Mike Kelly, and Jamie Cheatwood.
