Military services for Thomas Wayne Bartley, 20, of Camp Pendleton, Calif., and formerly of Lorenzo, will be today (Thursday) at 2 p.m. in the Happy Union Baptist Church, eight miles south of Plainview, with the Rev. Gene Joplin, pastor, officiating.
Burial will be in the Crosbyton Cemetery under the direction of Carter-Adams Funeral Home at Ralls.
Bartley died at 7 a.m. Friday in the University Medical Center in Loma Linda, Calif., from injuries suffered in an automobile accident April 25.
The Crosby County native had lived on the South Plains until he joined the Marine Corps two years ago. He was a lance corporal, stationed at Camp Pendleton.
Survivors include his mother, Emma Louise of Plainview; his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. J.W. Bartley and Mrs. Willie Rasco, all of Lorenzo; a brother, Donald James of Plainview; and five sisters, Peggy Burdge of Meade, Kan., Glenda Joyce, Patricia Diane, Rebecca Ruth and Kathy Jo, all of Plainview.
