Three Die In Headon Collision

Funeral services were held in Cameron Friday for two young men who died in a firey two-vehicle accident near Rosebud Wednesday night.
Pronounced dead at the scene were Will McIntosh, 27, who was the county adult probation officer, and Steve Thweatt, 23, of Maysfield, a local postal employee. A third man, Mark Jones, 35, of Rosebud, also died in the crash.
The accident occurred about 7:30 p. m. on Highway 77 two miles south of Rosebud. The headon collision sent the two pickups involved into a ditch beside the road, and both vehicles exploded and burned.
A fourth man, Bob Jones, 35, Mark's brother, was pulled from the wreckage by Gary McCauley, 17, of Rosebud, and was in satisfactory condition in a Temple hospital.
Funeral service for McIntosh was held at 10 a. m. Friday in the First United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Bryan Brown officiating. Burial was in Oak Hill Cemetery with Masonic graveside service conducted by San Andres Lodge 170.
He was born in Marlin and was the adult probation officer for Milam and Robertson counties. He was a member of Karem Shrine Temple of Waco and the Cameron Rotary Club.
Surviving are his parents, Mr. and Mrs. W. L. McIntosh of Cameron.
Funeral for Thweatt was held at 4 p. m. Friday in the First Presbyterian Church in Cameron with the Rev. Ernest Helsley officiating. Burial was in the Pebble Grove Cemetery near Maysfield.
He was born in Cameron and was a postal employee at the Cameron Post Office.
Surviving are his mother, Mrs. Herbert Thweatt of Maysfield, brothers, Herbert Thweatt and Larry Thweatt, both of Austin, and a sister, Mrs. Lanette Vrana of Houston.
