Services for Loyd Wayne Yowell, 77, of Brownfield will be 1:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 18, 2007, at Brownfield First Baptist Church, with Rev. Randy Land and Rev. Jonathan Land officiating. Interment will be in Terry County Memorial Cemetery under the direction of Brownfield Funeral Home.

Loyd passed away Tuesday, Oct. 16, 2007, in Brownfield. He was born June 1, 1930, in Paducah, to Daniel Jason and Gay Yowell. He and his family moved to the Meadow area in 1936. He married Beryl Henson in 1948. Loyd and Beryl farmed in Terry County and were also co-owners of Larry's Chemical, now managed by their oldest son, Larry. Loyd was a member of Brownfield First Baptist Church. He is preceded in death by a son, Alan E. Yowell and a brother, D. J. Yowell, Jr.

Loyd is survived by his wife, Beryl; two sons, Larry and wife Sharon and Dennis and wife Peggy, all of Brownfield; a daughter-in-law, Sheryl Yowell of Frisco; and six grandchildren, Brad Yowell of Lubbock, Shelby Land and husband Jonathan of Princeton, N.J., Lindsay Yowell of Midland, Taylor Yowell of Los Angeles, Calif., Rylan Yowell of Dallas and Farron Anderson and husband Grant of Plano.

The family suggests memorials to Brownfield First Baptist Church Building Fund.
