Funeral services for Frank E. Braden, 61, of 12 Sands, Phillips, a longtime area resident, will be at 4 p.m. Monday in the First Baptist Church of Phillips.

The Rev. Joe Dee Ray, of Denton, former pastor of the First Baptist Church, will officiate.

Burial will be at Highland Park Cemetery by Simpson Funeral Home.

Braden died at 8:30 p.m. Friday at North Plains Hospital.

He was born Feb. 13, 1911, in Fort Smith, Ark., and had lived in the Borger area since 1928. He was co-owner of the Braden Food Store, and a member of the VFW Post 1789 and the American Legion Post 412.

Survivors include his wife, Vermae; his mother, Mrs. Mae Braden, Phillips; 4 bothers: R.R. Braden, Borger; Wayne Braden, Iffrey, Tex.; Jim Braden, Rankin, and Bill Braden, Oswatomie, Kan.; one sister, Mrs. Harold Watson of Fort Worth.

Pallbearers will be John Yows, Harold Shanks, Doc Castleman, Guy P. Wiley and Cecil E. House.
