Services for Robert L. Wilks, 72, formerly of Brownfield were held at 10 am Wednesday, December 13, 2006 at Calvary Baptist Church with Rev. Steve Carter and Carrol Herring officiating. Interment was in Terry County Memorial Cemetery under the direction of Brownfield Funeral Home.
Robert passed away Sunday, Dec. 10, 2006 in Lubbock. He was born Jan. 23, 1934 in Ardmore, OK to Charles and Mabel Wilks. He was a US Army Veteran. He married Peggy Herring, Nov. 26, 1956 in Aberdeen, MD. Robert worked for Goodpasture from 1971 until retiring in 1997. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Brownfield.
He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Peggy of Lubbock; two sons, Les Wilks and his wife, Beth Ann and Greg Wilks and his wife, Debbie, both of Lubbock; a daughter, Gena Wilks of Lubbock; four grandchildren, Sagan, Brooke, Logan and Mason; two brothers, Wendell Wilks of Lubbock and Johnny Wilks of Marion, IN; a sister, Sharon Stewart of Warsaw, IN.
Memorials may be made to Calvary Baptist Church Building Fund.
