BORGER - Famous W. Byers, 75, died Saturday, Aug. 15, 2009, in Amarillo.
Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday in Highland Park Cemetery with Mark DeRouen, son-in-law, officiating. Arrangements are by Minton/Chatwell Funeral Directors.
Mr. Byers was born July 15, 1934, in Sallisaw, Okla. He was an involvement minister at the Church of Christ in Borger.
Survivors include his wife, Carol; three daughters, Carrie Wakler and Tina DeRouen of Borger and Tammy Recter of Abilene; a sister, Cornelia Stewart of California; and eight grandchildren.
The family suggests memorials be to Sunset School of Preaching, c/o Church of Christ at Borger, 1100 Bulldog Blvd., Borger, TX 79007.
