Funeral services for C.M. "Ted" Carter, who died at 5:30 a.m. today in North Plains Hospital, will be held at 3 p.m. Thursday in the First Methodist Church of Borger. The Rev. Lloyd Hamilton, pastor, and Rev. Vernon Henderson, Amarillo, will officiate at the services. Interment will be in the Highland Park cemetery under the direction of the Minton Funeral Home.

Carter, 55, resided at 5 South Youker in Phillips and had been a supervisor for the Phillips Petroleum Company's Refinery for the past 22 years. He was a member of the First Methodist Church of Borger.

Survivors include his wife, Sally; two sons, Edward H. of Phillips and Charles M. of Corpus Christi; five sisters, Mrs. Ruth Molloy of Joplin, Missouri, Mrs. M.H. Epperson of Pittsburg, Kansas, Miss Maude Carter of Joplin, Missouri, Mrs. Ray Finley of Compton, California and Mrs. Harold Plaster of Joplin, Missouri; and one granddaughter.

Active pallbearers will be Ed Lewis, Jr., Jude Lummus, Jess Hall, Lester Lay, Jack Stallings and O.C. Rankin. Honorary pallbearers will be the supervisors at the Phillips Refinery.

Sarah I. "Sally" Carter, 93, died Wednesday, May 5, at Wharton.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at First United Methodist Church with Dr. David Jones, pastor, officiating. Interment will be in Eastlawn Garden at Highland Park Cemetery under the direction of Minton-Chatwell Funeral Directors of Borger.

Mrs. Carter was born in Brookhaven, Miss. She was a retired clerk for Circle Motel. She was a member of First United Methodist Church, Borger Rebekah's, Royal Neighbors, Women's Society of Christian Service and a 50-year member of Blackwell Chapter of Order of Eastern Star #51.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles M. Carter, in 1958.

Survivors include two sons, Edward Henry Carter of Little Rock, Ark. and Charles M. Carter of Boling; six grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
