*Obituary
Funeral services for J.E. "Curley" Cathey, 63, of Fritch will be at 2 p.m. Monday in the Calvary Baptist Church of Borger with the Rev. Charles Broadhurst officiating. Burial will be in Highland Park Cemetery under the direction of Blackburn-Shaw's Martin Road Chapel of Amarillo.
The body will rest at Minton's Mortuary until 1 p.m. Monday.
A resident of Fritch for the past four years, Cathey died at 5:30 p.m. Friday. He was a retired supervisor for Phillips Petroleum Co., and was a resident of Borger for 30 years before moving to Fritch
He was born August 26, 1908 in Hamilton, Texas. Cathey was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church of Borger.
He is survived by his wife, Emma; one daughter, Mrs. Barbara Musgraves of Borger; three sons, Richard A. Cathey of Jacksonville, Fla., David E. Cathey of Amarillo and John R. Cathey of Houston; one sister, Mrs. Elsie Pierce of Fort Worth; four brothers, Tom of Seagraves, Cleo of Aurora, Colo.; Qunitan of Irving, Tex. and Dalton of Miami, Fla.; and seven grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Charlie Morris, C.E. Cobb, Burt Jackson, Johnny West, R.S. Ruiz, J.E. Foust and Earl Burton.
