*Obituary
(Published in Borger News Herald, August 2, 1948)
Funeral services were held at 4 p.m. today in the chapel of the Minton Funeral home for Charlie C. Chambless, 56, who died Sunday at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Ed Miles, 913 Hackberry street.
Paul Cullen, pastor of the First Baptist church officiated.
The deceased was a plumber and had been a resident of Borger for 22 years.
Interment was in Highland park cemetery.
Active pall bearers were Hugh Anderson, Barney Morrison, Frank Deason, Dee Boulter, Charlie White and W.C. Westbrook. Honorary pall bearers were H. M. Hood, K.H. Daily, J.C. Knowles, Dale Lane, Charlie McLaughlin and Maurice Patchin.
Survivors are the wife, Mrs. Bertha Chambless; two sons, Caarl and Charles, both of Borger; three daughters, Mrs. Clara Roberts of Anson, Texas, Mrs. Della Faye Wardon of Oklahoma City and Pearl Chambless of Borger; and two grandchildren.
