Martha Armstrong, 68, had been. visiting her brother, G.E. Criswell in Lubbock, Texas when she fell ill.

Mrs. Armstrong was born in Weatherford, Texas.

Martha Criswell married Doc Armstrong at Wolfe City, Texas on 6 September 1906. The couple moved to Cottle County in 1920. He was operating a grocery store in Paducah at the time of his death.

A second marriage to D.C. Brewster in October 1953 ended in divorce recently.

Survived by two daughters - Mrs. Fred Becker and Mrs. Joe Hall; one son - Lavelle Armstrong; two sisters - Mrs. W.F. Hoffman, Mrs. J.B. Latimer; five brothers - G.E. Criswell, E.D. Criswell, S.L. Criswell, W.H. Criswell, J.R. Criswell.

Services were held at First Methodist Church officiated by Rev. O.A. McBrayer, the pastor and Rev. John Price of Chillicothe, Texas.
