Albert Edwin Axe, a lifetime resident of Paducah, passed away Monday, June 21, 2004, at the age of 96. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, June 23, 2004, at the First Christian Church of Paducah. Interment will be in the Garden of Memories Cemetery in Paducah under the direction of Seigler Funeral Home of Paducah.
Albert was born Aug. 10, 1908 to John and Lena Axe in Hamby. He served his country during WWII with the U.S. Army as a dental technician. He was the owner of the City Barber Shop on the north side of Paducah for 42 years. He married Mollie Hanks, his wife of 66 years, Dec. 1, 1937 in Paducah. Albert was a member of the First Christian Church of Paducah, the VFW and the Disabled American Veterans.
He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Mollie Axe of Paducah; two sisters-in-law, Patricia Richards of Hobbs, N.M. and Linnie Biddy of Forney; a niece, Jackie Chavez of Oklahoma City, Okla.; and three nephews, Tim Richards of Hobbs, N.M., Chris Biddy of Arlington, and Jerry Biddy of Dallas.
