Loyd Wayne Cheatwood, 73, died Thursday, April 5, 2001, in BSA Hospice in Amarillo.
Services will be held at 3 p.m. Monday at Riverview Baptist Church with Rev. Ray Milhoun, officiating. Burial will be in Highland Park Cemetery under the direction of Brown Funeral Home in Borger.
Mr. Cheatwood was born on Sept. 1, 1927. He moved to Borger and worked from Phillips Petroleum at Philtex for 36 years before retiring. He acted as a music leader in many local churches and belonged to the Country Church in Amarillo.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Nona Mae Cheatwood and an infant son, Duwayne Cheatwood.
Survivors include four daughters, Ila Mauldin, Pat Isom, Debie Duso, all of Borger and Sheila Webb of Katy; seven brothers, J.D. Cheatwood of Fritch, Alton Cheatwood of Borger, Clovis Cheatwood of Amarillo, Lee Cheatwood of Dallas, Leonard Cheatwood of Port Aransas, Travis Cheatwood of Mission, and Meryl Cheatwood of Houston; one sister, Faye Mack of Auburn, Calif.; nine grandchildren, Jim Mauldin of San Antonio, Todd Lemon of Fritch, Boyd Mauldin of Amarillo, Terry Lemon of Ft. Worth, Jeff Isom of Friona, Jennifer Isom of Amarillo, Julianna Duso of Seattle, Wash, Kimberly Duso of Borger and Matthew Webb of Seminole, Okla.; five great-grandchildren, Kyle Lemon of Fritch, Chelsea Lemon of Fritch, Jacob Isom of Friona, Justin Mauldin and Lindsey Mauldin both of Amarillo.
The family will be receiving friends at 1601 Primrose Lane in Borger. On Sunday, the family will be at the funeral home to receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m.
Memorials may be made to BSA Hospice of Amarillo in memory of Mr. Cheatwood.
Casket bearers will be Jamie Cheatwood, Jeff Isom, Todd Lemon, Terry Lemon, Boyd Mauldin and Othel Hester.
