Jack Rogers Coiner, 78, of Borger, died Saturday, April 26, 1997 in Amarillo.

Funeral services were held today at Minton/Chatwell Memorial Chapel with Mr. Zeb Sailors, Church of Christ, officiating.

Burial was in Highland Park Cemetery.

Casket bearers were Pat Harris, Mike Kochick, David Mackey, Jerry Glenn Ithaca, Harvey Hathaway and Dennis Berg.

Mr. Coiner had been a Borger resident since 1936. He graduated from Borger High School in 1936. On February 5, 1949 he married Laverne Ithaca in Clovis, N.M. He worked with the Boy Scouts of America and was a charter member of the Toastmasters Club and Jaycee's Club.

Survivors include his wife, Laverne Coiner of the home; two sons, Jack Rogers Coiner, II of Borger and John William Coiner of Houston; two brothers, William E. Coiner of St. Albanas, W.V., and John Charles Coiner of Charleston, W.V.; one sister, Treva Cox of Charleston, W.V.; five grandchildren, many nieces and nephews, and great nieces and nephews.
