VICTORIA, TX — James Herman Cole, 93, passed away on Sunday, March 16, 2008.

Funeral services, March 20, 2008, at Grace Funeral Home with Rev. James Shamburger officiating. Interment on Friday, March 21, 2008, in Highland Park Cemetery in Borger. Unity Lodge # 1242 officiating.

He was born April 8, 1914, in Erath County, to the late Minnie Long and James Frank Cole. Borger was his home for over 50 years where he was a member and deacon of Calvary Baptist Church. Since July 2001, he lived in Victoria and was a member of First Baptist Church. He was Master Mason for over 69 years, and was a member of the following AF & AM lodges; Unity Lodge #1242 in Borger, Harmony Lodge #592 in Morgan Mill, and Masonic Lodge # 40 in Victoria.

Mr. Cole was preceded in death by his parents, wife of 71 years, Ruby Green Cole, daughter, Veta Mae Edwards; son, Douglas Cole; son-in-law Bud Williams, sisters, Beatrice Wiley, Ava Mae Clark; brothers, T.H. and K.V. Cole; and granddaughter, Patricia Packwood Janke.

He is survived by his two daughters, Wanda Packwood and husband Jerry of Morgan Mill, and La Verne Williams of Victoria; son, H. Donnell (Donna) Cole of Vanderbilt; grandchildren, Michael Packwood, Buz (Lori) Williams, D'lana (Jonathan) Neuse, Kimberly (Robert) King; 10 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great grandson, many nieces, nephews, and friends.

BORGER - Ruby C. Green Cole, 90, died Friday, May 2, 2003.

Services will be at 2 p.m. today in Calvary Baptist Church with the Rev. D. Jay Lewis, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Highland Park Cemetery by Minton/Chatwell Funeral Directors.

Mrs. Cole was born April 7, 1913, in Erath County. She was a homemaker.

Survivors include her husband, J.H.; a son, H. Donnell Cole of Vanderbilt; two daughters, Wanda Packwood of Morgan Mill and LaVerne Williams of Victoria; a brother, Calvin Green of Borger; five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.
